Los Angeles, CA (December 20, 2016) – What happens when the lines between good and bad are blurred?
Charismatic LAPD detective William Doyle (Jordan Belfi – Entourage, Grey’s Anatomy) does his job effortlessly, and as honestly as the job allows. But when his informant sets him up on a drug bust to catch some local dealers, he realizes too late that these dealers are part of the ‘San Vicente’ Drug Cartel. Soon Doyle is in the middle of a war between this notorious Mexican cartel and the Chinese Triad, as Internal Affairs launches an investigation into his task force.
Afraid that he has poked a sleeping bear and is now marked for death, Doyle must make a deal for his life with the head of the Cartel, offering to work for them as a dirty cop. He and his informant are forced to navigate the seedy cartel underworld to get out from under the thumb of the dangerous criminals he has slipped into bed with, all while remaining on the right side of the law and keeping his girlfriend from getting killed.
BETTER CRIMINAL stars veteran actors Tom Sizemore (Saving Private Ryan; Black Hawk Down) and James Hong (Big Trouble In Little China; Rush Hour), as well as Mike Pfaff (Sons of Anarchy; 2 Broke Girls), Emilio Rivera (Sons of Anarchy; The Cable Guy), Bai Ling (Lost; Entourage), Carolyn Hennesy (True Blood; Cougar Town), and Lou Pizarro (Operation Repo; Ruthless).
BETTER CRIMINAL is written, produced and directed by Ben Burke(Let it Bleed; Red River Moon). Sean McCarthy (Our Way; Pointe Blank) serves as producer along with Lou Pizarro. Burke and McCarthy formed Torn & Restored Pictures in 2011 with an eye on the international market for feature and broadcast content. T&R Pictures recently released the revenge thriller, LET IT BLEED, the story of an ordinary man who exacts vengeance on an enemy, only to find it’s made him the target of a major crime lord and his army of psychopaths and professional killers.
