Also known as D-REK, Derek was infected as an infant via a blood transfusion, but not diagnosed with AIDS until 16 years later. The book is all about his inspirational journey and his life that has become a source of inspiration for many.

Moreover, he is a proud survivor of both open heart surgery and HIV, and his doctors refer to him as ‘The Terminator’.
