RADICATED RETROSTPECTIVE II: TO RAISE FUNDS TO BENEFIT NEW WORLD SCHOOL OF THE ARTS, AND DESIGN AND ARCHITECTURE SENIOR HIGH

–UNIQUE COLLABORATIVE EFFORT BETWEEN HUSBAND-AND-WIFE-TEAM STACEY MANCUSO AND THE LATE TOM WYROBA–

MIAMI,FL – October 04, 2016 – Celebrating its 30th Anniversary, New World School of the Arts has partnered with Design and Architecture Senior High [DASH] for a second time of an unusual bequest. Conceived by husband-and-wife-team, Dr. Stacey Mancuso, former Principal of DASH and her late husband Tom Wyroba, New World School of the Arts visual arts professor, to raise much needed funds for both institutions, Radicated Retrospective II:[rooted:established art for academia]offers exhibit guests the unique opportunity to own original artwork at an affordable price while benefiting South Florida’s premier arts schools. Most work displayed in the show, regardless of the size, will be sold for $50 each. The proceeds from all sales will be used to continue funding the WyMan Foundation to benefit both schools equally, through scholarships to New World School of the Arts visual arts college program.

Opening Reception for Radicated Retrospective II is on Thursday, October 29, 2016 at 7:00 PM – 10;00 PM with a Preview on Wednesday, October 28, 2016 FROM 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.Gallery@CGAF Mayfair Complex, 3390 Mary Street (entrance on Grand Ave), Coconut Grove, Florida 33146. (Parking under ground on Florida Avenue entrance.) Admission is free and open to the public.

“The exhibition is bitter-sweet… we miss Tom so much,” said Maggy Cuesta, dean of visual arts at New World School of the Arts. “Tom Wyroba gave so much of himself to every student that passed through his classroom – not only was he an admirable artist and educator, he gave the best of himself to his students by supporting and promoting their talent and looking for ways to help them achieve their higher education goals. When he and Stacy first proposed the first Radicated  Retrospective fundraising exhibition in 2010, we were thrilled with the opportunity it would offer students from NWSA and DASH who wanted to continue their art education in our visual arts college program. This second iteration of the show has taken a more meaningful form. The funds raised from the sale of Tom and Stacy’s work will not only continue to offer a viable financial opportunity for students’ education, but Tom’s legacy will continue to thrive through every future student that has received the WyMan Foundation Scholarship.”

The impressively diverse collection comprised of more than 200 works of art runs the gamut of styles, techniques and movements. The varied collection includes paintings, collages, drawings, photography and installations, some recently created while others were conceived and developed up to three decades ago. “It is a challenge for two artists to share a studio for thirty years,” said Mancuso, “The challenge increases exponentially when the two artists are husband and wife.”  “Our objective was to establish a foundation to support the college education of worthy students from NWSA and DASH so that our community can continue to reap the benefits of creating, nurturing and developing world artists.” Radicated Retrospective II raised tens of thousands of dollars in 2012. The students who benefitted from the scholarships thus far will be present at the exhibit to share their experience.
