I recently had an interview with Phil, in which he opened up about the three things he loves; his family, community, and helping others. Phil also explains why he now feels that he is doing his life’s best work.
So Mr. Englander, how long have you owned your agency?
I joined State Farm Dec 3, 2016, and proudly became an Agent on May 1, 2017.
What was your career before you became a State Farm Agency Owner?
Interestingly I spent 25 years in the Automotive Industry. As a Commercial Accounts Director for the #1 Ford Dealership in the World, Galpin Ford, I was responsible for all of our major fleets and delivered over 1,000 vehicles annually, I found great success in that Industry.
That is very impressive! What prompted the change into the Insurance Industry?
The year 2016 proved to be a very difficult time for my family for within a 33-day span due to various illnesses I lost my mother, and my wife Heather lost not only her father but her stepmother as well. Through this tragedy, I learned how life changing Insurance can be, and I wanted to help others understand the importance of protecting their loved ones and securing a legacy for them.
What made you choose to partner with State Farm?
I wanted to associate myself with a Company that had strong brand recognition, a good reputation, and a wide variety of products to offer. State Farm who celebrated 95 years on June 7th now insures more cars and homes than any other insurer in the U.S. As a mutual company, and they are focused on our policyholders. State Farm is the 83rd largest bank in the US regarding assets — nearly $17 billion in assets and approximately 500,000 accounts in Mutual Funds.
What will Philip Englander Insurance and Financial Services Inc. bring to Simi Valley?
My Agency, together with my team made up of; Heather (my wife), Gavin Bird, Sheila Spence, Jocelyne Polio and Haley Seymour, will build relationships and help create protection plans for the assets of our insured. We will bring hometown roots marketing which involves; meeting the community, getting involved in community events, earning their business and trust with solid products.
