Marius Moneth, a Ph.D. student at the Heinrich Heine University of Düsseldorf is planning to release an illustrated book that will feature rare photographs from the world war one. He has launched a Kickstarter project with a goal of $20,000 to get his book into production and final marketing and distribution phase. This scientifically annotated book will consist of hundreds of previously unpublished private photographs from the First World War from the point of view of German soldiers.
The book will be published in both digital and hard copy format in German and English languages. Through the actual photographs taken during the world war one, this book will provide a closer look at the lives of soldiers during a war and how they go through the battlefield. Marius ensures that he describes these pictures with an objective so that no one with an agenda tried to misinterpret it.
During his research, Marius discovered nine albums from the experiences of one person in the world war and with his book, he wants everyone to get a better idea of how world war one was like. This historical treasure is consist of eight memory albums and a postcard albums with about 591 photos and pictures from the point of view of German soldiers.
The book will also consist of some images depicting the war zone in France, and reflect the cruelty of the war. The book will have images of the tanks, aircraft, guns and area behind the enemy lines. Of course, this is a delight to the history lovers and anyone who is curious to know in depth about the situation in world war one. The readers will get a clear impression of the destructive results of war and the life of soldiers from an individual perspective.
Marius also provides a preview of the work done in the final copy of the book. He has unveiled some of the photographs from the book, such as the postcard by a medical officer, Robert Liche, a picture of an operation being done which is quite rare considering the fact that photographers were not allowed in the medical area. The album will show pictures from 1915 to 1918, including the heart-wrenching photograph of an explosion beaming the sky and the picture of Iron cross 2 worn by the soldiers among many other pictures.
The initial response to the project had been great with a number of the perks offering the PDF copy of the book along with high-resolution images already gone.
