Palm Trading Co. Visits the Caribbean Island of St. Lucia to Design Their St. Lucia Series Island Style Wood Watch

“St. Lucia Series Wood Watch”
Just recently the Palm Trading Co. crew visited St. Lucia in the West Indies of the Caribbean to get inspiration on the design of their St. Lucia Series Wood Watch.

Palm Trading Co. was started due to the founder’s love of the islands and ocean.  Palm Trading Co. has created a collection of wood watches for like-minded island enthusiasts that will allow people to live the island lifestyle and to provide them with a brand that has deep island roots, style and craftsmanship.

All of their wooden watches are hand-made from all natural materials with the highest level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.  From the different varieties of woods used, colors of the hands & dial, to the detailed logo design, each island style watch is unique within it-self and is sure to please any island enthusiast.  Each wood watch is designed and named after a particular island.

When designing a new island style wood watch series, the Palm Trading Co. crew always travels to a new island destination and spends some time there learning the island, culture, cuisine and overall vibe so that it can be incorporated into the design of the island style wooden watch.  Palm Trading Co. founder Dallas Alford commented by saying “We are never in a hurry when we design one of our new island style wooden watches.  Our team takes the time to absorb the feeling we get when we visit a particular island and we incorporate that when we design a new watch series.  This includes the types of woods used, shape of the watch, size, and everything down to the finest detail.  Our goal is to have someone buy one of our timepieces because it reminds them of the island the wood watch is named after and allows them to live the island lifestyle all the time.

The Palm Trading Co. crew recently visited St. Lucia, which is an Eastern Caribbean Island located in the Lesser Antilles that is most recognized for the pair of dramatically tapered mountains, Pitons, which reside on the island’s west coast.   While on the island, crew members learned that St. Lucia has experienced resurgence in the number of cocoa plantations on the island, with the majority of cocoa exported to produce chocolate. The crew even got to make their own chocolate from raw cacao beans on an actual operating cacao plantation that had outstanding views of the Gros & Petit Pitons.

Alford stated that “After the Palm Trading Co. crew returned from St. Lucia, we designed the St. Lucia Series using red sandalwood as it reminded us of the cacao beans that were so prevalent on the island.  The beauty of the Gros and Petit Pitons were also incorporated into this island style wood watch.  Our goal was for this timepiece to remind people of all the natural beauty that the island of St. Lucia has to offer.”
