Orphaned Child Saved from Certain Death in Zambia

When missionary Tedd Galloway got the call he knew he’d receive, he packed his famly and headed to Zambia, Africa. That rainy night on the Zambian savannah, a mother’s heart moved the hand of God. In a land laid waste by disease and drought, an incredible story unfolded – one of courage, suffering, and the ultimate triumph of the power of God’s almighty love.

This is the true story of an infant born in the bush of southern Zambia at the height of the worst drought in years. That tiny life was awaiting the traditional burial, lying on the chest of her mother who died during delivery. For months the claw of death would try to snatch another victim. Finally, Galloway put the story down on paper and the results are compelling.  His message is resounding:

  • God’s timing is perfect, but not always understood
  • Genuine Christian love should be color-blind
  • Love is costly and can be painful
  • Every life is precious to God
  • The cost of loving does not compare to the joy that comes

Tedd says, “The world we live in would be different if God’s people would only look at each other through the eyes of the mother in this incredible story. Be inspired as the Body of Christ to not just talk about loving each other, but to demonstrate it.”

But this story is more than the rescue of a tiny baby destined to die in the bush country of Zambia. It is the story of the family that adopted her, the struggles they endured through the years and the joys, triumphs and the love they also experienced.

Reader Kathy Rhinehart says, “A wonderful story about a family’s inner draw to serve those who need help in a less fortunate country and find themselves saving the life of a tiny baby whose only fate was death if they didn’t reach out. An act of love or an act of God…. or both? You decide. This is a gripping story that activates just about every emotion a person can have. You will laugh, cry, anger, rejoice, and yearn for more of this wonderful book.”
