This one-woman gritty and ‘in your face’ tragically funny Actor/Writer/Producer show is giving back in a big way. In addition to being bold and giving big laughs, Comedian Fee King tells it like it is and she paints a picture of how spirit can truly triumph over circumstance.
Told at 16 by close family friends that she’d never finish high school, would be on welfare, and would be ‘knocked up’, she turned the tables on the naysayers and is now filling tables across the country with her award-winning “say it like it is” comedic style. What’s more, she’s passionate about using her shows to raise awareness for vulnerable kids and raising funds to give back where it counts the most: helping at-risk kids via peace4kids charitable work.
As Fee King explains, “I’ve been Dreaming a BIG Dream ALL of my life; which was to not allow another’s opinion of me to determine my destiny. My story is about EVERY girl, woman, man, boy – human being.” Already picking up several winning awards at home for her edgy and energetic style, Fee King isn’t one to sit back and rest. She’s launched a newIndiegogo funding campaign to help send the “Momma was a BAD Mutha … Shut Yo Mouth” show international this summer. With your support, Fee will perform in Scotland.
Your support for Fee’s show will continue to benefit the work done by peace4kids at home. The tax-deductible donations will help raise awareness for the L.A. based 501 (c) 3 non-profit Peace4kids helping those verge of aging out of foster care to find employment, suitable shelter and apply for college. Being at Scotland’s massive Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer will not only entertain the world, but support at-risk and disadvantaged youth in the US.
“This NAACP-nominated 1-woman show is a vehicle; which will allow me to give back financially, socially and physically where I can be of service in a monumental way. … Peace4Kids is dedicated to empowering foster and at-risk youth by providing community as family.” says Fee. Donations of any amount are gratefully accepted and all proceeds go towards covering trip expenses while raising funds and awareness for the great work being done by Peace4kids for foster kids and at-risk youth in L.A.
Donations are tax-deductible (see her Indiegogo campaign site for details). Your donations will get FEE to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival to perform in front of the world’s largest theater festival. They also support lodging, meals and performance space rental for August in Scotland. Even if you can’t donate just share the links with your friends and family via all your social networks. Help make Fee’s dream come true and give hope to vulnerable youth.
