NEW WEB SERIES PUTS KIDS IN CHARGE IN THE KITCHEN

MADISON, WI – July 24, 2018 – When Jason Farrington’s brother was in kindergarten, his teacher had each student share their own version of the recipe for their favorite meal and compiled the recipes into a cookbook. Now, over two decades later, Farrington is utilizing this project as the basis for a new web series, Elementary Cooking.

After finding the cookbook recently, Jason knew it was time to turn it into something bigger. “The results were hilarious,” he shares. “I always thought it would make for a great cooking show but never pursued it until now.” With a background in videography, he sees this as an opportunity to capture the hilarity and innocence of children while getting both children and parents involved.

Elementary Cooking lives up to its tagline, “a cooking show where kids are the main ingredient”, by seeking out submissions by parents of their children’s own take on family favorite recipes. His main goal is to get families involved. “As long as I can remember, I’ve loved movies and TV,” Farrington says. “This will be a show that the whole family can enjoy together.”

To get the web series off the ground, Farrington is launching an Indiegogo campaign. The initial round of funding will be used to produce and film the pilot episode, which will feature Farrington’s brother’s laugh-worthy pasta recipe, along with a winning hamburger recipe and some other exciting surprises.

With instructions like, “Get 20 noodles at the store” and “Cook it not very long,” this series is aimed at promoting laughter while serving as a bonding experience for families. Jason explains, “I want kids to know that their ideas can turn into something great even if they seem foolish or goofy at the time.” On Elementary Cooking, kids are the boss, and the crazier the instructions, the funnier the results.

The September launch date of this new web series is just around the corner, and Farrington and his team can’t wait to get cooking.
