You Own the World® is now live, and the stories have begun to pour in. Located at YouOwntheWorld.com, the new platform spurs inspiration from a long lineage of bold, passionate, ambitious women, and aims to propagate inspirational and empowering stories.
You Own the World® (YOW) is a platform for people around the world to share inspirational stories about influential women who have had a positive impact on their lives. The website also provides information on women’s causes, health, parenting, news, events, and women owned businesses.
“Women around the world share the same plight of being valued and respected, greater equality, and having the liberty to bring their dreams to fruition. Due to the heroic actions of women from across the continents, women have advanced from not being allowed to vote or gain access to an education, to running for president, owning multi-billion dollar companies and flying into space. By providing a platform to share stories of these remarkable women, You Own the World® was founded to help inspire and empower women, bring greater awareness to their causes, and to celebrate their achievements,” says Founder, Sharisa Henry.
You Own the World® also honors mothers and parents who strive to create a strong foundation for their children. Whether being a single parent, struggling to instill confidence or coping with bullying, parents can share and submit stories about the challenges they face, and how they are overcoming them.
Submitting a story to www.YouOwntheWorld.com is easy. Visitors to the website can post their story to one of three categories: YOW Pioneers, YOW Stories or YOW Parents. The platform also facilitates the uploading of photos with the story submission. In addition to sharing their own stories, visitors can invite others to share their inspirational stories by sending them a You Own the World® YOW invitation.
You Own the World® features men that support women’s causes and concerns, and who facilitate the advancement of women.
Cofounder, Ricardo James, affirms that “Learning from others is the strength we tend to forget we have, but once we learn it – we can “own It!”
