New London Mayor Sadiq Khan\’s effect on Small Business

Daniel Lane Small Business Expert give his vew on what The New Mayor means for London’s Small Business.

The New London Mayor won by 57% which is incredible when you consider his parties recent connection with Anti-Semitism. Even more so when you consider the Conservative candidate, Conservative Prime Minister David Cameron, and the Old Mayor of London Boris Johnson, all went the same School. Eton which is famed for producing high flying Politicians.

So against the odds Sadiq Khan has fought and won an incredible campaign in which he has established himself as the best man for the job.

One reason for his Win other than clearly being up to the job in hand is the fact that he seems to have distanced himself from the unpopular Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn. And used his first interview on the Marr Show for the BBC to slate the unpopular leader.

So what does it all mean for Small Business in London?

Small Business Expert Daniel Lane says ‘Small business should do well with Sadiq Khan as London Mayor because his manifesto is hopeful and his humble upbringing as the son of a bus driver and being a Labour member hopefully indicates he has sympathy with Small Business.’

The new London mayor was sworn in at Southwark Cathedral to rapturous applause and a standing ovation.

Sadiq Khan’s manifesto says he ran a business and will set up a Business Advisory Board as well as protecting incubators and start ups. So the future looks bright for small business in London.
