New Kind of Home Care Company to Serve Central Bucks

DOYLESTOWN – Believe Home Care opened for business this week and is equipping caregivers with easy-to-use mobile technology so they can better monitor clients and keep family members in the loop with real-time updates.

“Believe’s innovative platform allows the caregivers to track vitals, send messages and photos or even video to family members so they know exactly what’s happening in the home,” says Believe founder Scott Parlee. “Also, our nurses are able to immediately catch potential health issues and intervene to help prevent setbacks or reduce the risk of re-hospitalization.” He adds, “I see our platform becoming a real game-changer in the home care industry.”

Parlee’s vision of bringing technology to the home care market came from years of working in healthcare, running his own home care company, and working for various mobile technology companies. He spent the last year working with a team of engineers to make his vision a reality. When asked what sets Believe apart from other home care agencies, Parlee says, “First, I’d say it’s the transparency that gives families peace of mind. Second, it’s our ability to track and monitor someone’s health status.”

Believe’s website boasts compensating caregivers 10 to 15 percent more than other home care agencies, and Parlee says he’s extremely impressed with the caregivers he’s brought on board thus far. His wife, Terry, is one of them. She earned her C.N.A. (certified nurse assistant) license a year ago, and finds her role as a caregiver extremely rewarding. “It’s a privilege to care for a family’s loved one.”

Prior to their move back to Doylestown, while living in Massachusetts, she worked for another home care agency. She recalls, “I’d check off tasks and write notes on a form kept in a binder, and they may or may not have been read by other caregivers or family members. I’d leave a message for a nurse and sometimes not hear back right away.” She says, “This new technology platform takes home care to a new level.”

Believe’s offices are in Doylestown and Newtown. Services range from companionship and meal preparation to personal care and hygiene. Families can opt for 2-hour visits to 24-hour live-in care, depending on need.
