Austin, TX – August 8, 2017 – Gametime Blitz, an Austin, TX-based gaming company, is disrupting the sports app industry with an interactive prediction game that attracts customers to local venues. Every contest provides a grand prize of $1,000 along with a cache of additional prizes, such as gift cards and venue-specific rewards.
The app asks players to predict events throughout the course of a sporting event with questions such as:
Football – “Will the first score of the game be a touchdown?”
Baseball – “Will there be a strikeout in the third inning?”
Basketball – “Will LeBron James make a 3 point field goal in the second quarter?”
The game includes several popup questions but the majority of questions are available to view and answer before the start of a game. Each player is given the opportunity to update their selections until the questions are locked at the appropriate time during the game. This gives players a chance to interact and change their picks based on game flow. Gametime Blitz players can engage, in real-time, without having to stare at their phones for the entire duration of the event. It’s the perfect middle ground between fantasy leagues and apps that require your undivided attention.
Gametime Blitz makes connecting with other sports fans a breeze with its group function. Players can create or join groups, promoting participation in different social circles. Each group has its own leaderboard, which allows players to see how they’re doing compared to their friends while still competing against the general population on the main leaderboard for big prizes.
“We are happy to bring this free, exciting sports app to the market,” noted Gametime Blitz CEO Garrett Brustein. “Sports fans will love the immersion. The opportunity to win prizes definitely makes watching games more exciting, even for people who aren’t sports enthusiasts.”
Gametime Blitz is currently featuring contests for MLB and other major sporting events throughout the summer. The app will transition into NFL, college football and more during the autumn season.
“We built this app to make every game more fun for viewers,” said CTO Ciprian Dragoste. “Even if the actual game is a complete blowout, you and your friends will still have fun, no matter who you are rooting for.”
Players around the country can compete using the home version but the company will soon be running contests at participating sports bars as well. Similar to trivia night, bars will host Gametime Blitz contests and offer prizes to winners.
Gametime Blitz is available for iOS, Android and as a web app.
