Recently, Monspace sponsored the Malaysian finals of the Water Cube Cup Chinese Songs Contest for Overseas Chinese, and spectated the champion of the Malaysian regional contest! The winner will be representing Malaysia in a contest in China, pitted against the best singers from around the world.
With participants required to use Chinese language when singing – no limits for the singing style and the song – the contest intends to foster Chinese teenagers’ enthusiasm towards Chinese language and culture.
The contest will also serve as qualification for the finals of the 2018 “Water Cube Cup” Song Contest for Overseas Chinese scheduled to run from July 29 in Beijing, China.
The two best performers from the Finnish division of the competition will get to represent Malaysia in the finals that will take place in the Water Cube, also known as the National Aquatics Centre in Beijing.
The Water Cube has been the venue for the song contest ever since it was built for the Beijing 2008 Olympics with donations from overseas Chinese from around the world.
Held every year since 2011, the “Water Cube Cup” song contest has so far attracted over 12,000 participants from more than 30 countries and regions around the world. The contest is sponsored by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, the Beijing Municipal Government and the All-China Youth Federation.
Monspace is honored to sponsor such a high-quality cultural event, and do our part for the cultural exchange between China and Malaysia. In future, Monspace will continue supporting meaningful cultural events, to keep our culture alive!
