CHICAGO, IL – Mod Littles, a new Chicago-based retailer of stylish, organic baby goods, launched its inaugural product, a GOTS Certified Organic Carseat Canopy and Nursing Cover, exclusively on Amazon.com.
Kaitlin Armon, founder of Mod Littles, said of her new line, “As a mom to a toddler with another baby on the way, I’m always on the lookout for well-made products that are also multi-purpose. The less gear I have to carry around, the better! Our covers can be used for infant carseats, high-chairs, shopping carts, and during nursing. From the beginning we knew we wanted to make it GOTS-certified organic so that it’s as safe as possible for mom, baby, and the environment.”
The Mod Littles carseat canopy is made of 96% GOTS-certified organic cotton, with 4 percent spandex for stretch and versatility. GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) certification is a worldwide standard for organic products, that mandates:
- Textiles be organic from harvesting of the raw materials through the manufacturing and labelling processes.
- Any dyes and process chemicals to meet basic requirements on toxicity and biodegradability.
- Safe, hygienic working conditions for factory employees and the prohibition of child labor.
Mod Littles’ simple black-and-white patterns are not only designed to easily mix into the modern mom’s wardrobe, they serve two other distinct purposes, too. “I chose this palette for our designs because it’s gender neutral, which makes it great for parents who aren’t finding out their baby’s gender, but also allows the cover to be used for children of the opposite sex down the line,” Armon said. “Plus, I’m all for mental stimulation from the very beginning, and graphic black and white patterns are great for baby’s brain in those early months.”
Mod Littles plans to launch its GOTS certified organic carseat canopy and nursing cover in additional patterns each season, and will be launching new organic baby gear later this year.
