Tampa, FL – March 15, 2017 – Nurses deserve the best, but most times are overworked and underpaid. Being a constant caregiver can take its toll on the best of us. Studies have found that 60% of nurses exhibit signs or symptoms of burnout.
Why not help them turn their knowledge into a passion. We certainly dont want burnout to lead to cynicism, medication errors or even worse death. Yes it does happen! Imagine working 12 hours on your feet, with occasional overtime to feed your family.
I found myself feeling the symptoms of burnout a few years back after serving over 15 years (at the time). I immediately began to save my money up because I knew I wanted OUT!
Fast foward to 2016 where Michelle Rhodes Media, LLC was born and I strategically developed a 90 day plan for nurses to start up their businesses using the skills and knowledge that they hold.
Of course, nursing school does not teach Entrepreneurship because we need bodies to fill those shifts! Not to mention the Nursing shortage that has been going on for years. All of this adds up to the perfect storm and the outcome may not be pretty for a patient out there.
Solving the nursing shortage and alleviating burnout goes beyond the purpose of this book, but one thing that i have learned from the business side of Healthcare is that start up and ancillary services are just as needed as the Hospital level of care. It all goes along the spectrum of services.
So why not help Nurses find their true passion and become Health Care Entrepreneurs. Some kind Nurse might change her community by doing so and some patients’ life might be saved.
