Fort Lauderdale, FL – December 08, 2015 – The annual Signature Chefs Auction kicked off at Pier 66 in Fort Lauderdale and was a sizzling success this year. The event offered up live entertainment, an auction and delicious treats from leading Chefs in the area. Chairing the event was attorney Michael D. Wild, particularly proud of this year’s successsince the event raised an impressive $110,000 for the March of Dimes Broward Division. In the last two years, their collective efforts raised more than $220,000 in the fight to end Premature Births.
Premature birth is the top reason for newborn deaths in the United States. In Florida alone, 1 in 9 newborn children are born prematurely. Those who survive the premature birth are prone to serious health issues. When asked why he supports the March of Dimes so fervently, Michael answered, “the March of Dimes is an organization that is on a mission to educate and support families in need in an effort to eliminate premature births. The organization funds research and provides advocacy programs to mothers in Broward County that are in need of care and services to improve both the health of their baby as well as their own.” The money raised at events such as the Signature Chefs Auction contribute to every baby receiving necessary vaccinations and therapy sessions that help premature organs, such as lungs, grow to full capacity.
November is Prematurity Awareness Month. Michael Wild and the members of the Broward Division of the March of Dimes urge you to wear purple and show your support for the fight against Premature Birth.
