Ticket Down is a reputable source of authentic tickets for the “Group C” match between Mexico vs. Uruguay on Sunday, June 5th at the University of Phoenix Stadium which is in conjunction with the 2016 Copa America Centenario. The teams in “Group C” of the Copa America are: Mexico, Uruguay, Jamaica and Venezuela
During 2016, fans of soccer can anticipate one of the most unique events in the history of the sport. Instead of waiting for the next, regularly scheduled Copa America Tournament, they can attend any of the 32 games booked as part of the Copa America Centenario Tournament instead.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime competition of CONMEBOL teams, and it will only happen this once. This is because the organization is turning 100 this year, and their Copa America Tournament is also celebrating the same anniversary. To honor such a landmark achievement, the organization has arranged a special tournament to run from June 3rd through June 26th.
Instead of limiting it to CONMEBOL members alone, it is also including six teams from the CONCACAF organization as well. This brings the number of teams from 12 to 16 and the total matches to 32. Additionally, the tournament is moving out of South America for this one-time experience, and is being hosted in ten different United States locations.
The tournament will use a Group Stage along with Quarterfinals, Semifinals, a Third Place game and the Final. Using the round robin format during the Group Stage, the 16 teams are divided into four Groups – A through D. The June 5th match is a “Group C” competition, and the other two teams in this group include Jamaica and Venezuela.
Winners of the matches gain three points, and if the game ends in a draw both take a single point. The top two teams in each group advance to the Quarterfinals that are scheduled to begin in Seattle, WA on June 16th.
The Mexican national football team is a strong contender, ranking highly in world football. Called El Tri by fans, it is lead by captain Rafael Marquez. The Uruguayan national football team has won the Copa America and the World Cup, and is led by captain Diego Dodin.
The University of Phoenix Stadium is only ten years old, and home to several national teams as well as the site of the annual Fiesta Bowl celebrations. This venue was used in 2015 as the site of the CONCACAF Gold cup.
Soccer fans can purchase tickets for just one match or a venue pass which allows admittance to all Copa America matches. The University of Phoenix Stadium will also host the additional matches below:
Sunday, June 5th
Group C: Mexico vs. Uruguay – Match 6
Wednesday, June 8th
Group B: Ecuador vs. Peru – Match 12
Saturday, June 25th
2016 Copa America Centenario – 3rd Place Match: L29 vs. L30 – Match 31
