WCEM vice-chairman Prof Dr Lee Chee Peng said the conference would gather exercise scientists, physicians, therapists and coaches to deliberate on exercise medicine, which was increasingly gaining acceptance among Malaysians.
“We hosted the first WCEM in Langkawi, Kedah, in November last year, where experts in exercise medicine from 25 countries gathered at the scientific event,” he said.
“This year, we are looking at 700 speakers from 35 countries to discuss more than 60 related topics.”
The event is organised by MS New Symphony Exercise Clinic in collaboration with the Asia College of Exercise and Sports Medicine.
Among the topics which will be covered at the conference are prevention of non-communicable diseases, safety in exercise, exercise and well-being, exercise protocol, sudden death in exercise and cardiovascular rehabilitation.
