Los Angeles, CA – Quilts patched with love” and filled with hand written messages and sewn together, are what Lilian Raven Clothing (LRC) a Fashion House is embarking on to help eradicate the homeless epidemic in Los Angeles, California and around the world. Raven noticing the increasing amount of homelessness on the rise in Los Angeles, wondered what she could do to help.
In preparation for this occasion, on April 29th and 30th 2017. Lilian Raven Clothing will have a booth at the Ultimate Women’s Expo at The Los Angeles Convention Center, named – Lilian Raven Clothing Sewing Pavilion.
At the Expo, Raven will be holding sewing classes for those who are interested in participating in helping to brighten other people’s day with uplifting, encouraging “Love Quilts”. No prior experience is necessary, just a willingness to help others. Choice pieces of fabric (donated by friends and other designers) will literally be sown together to make each quilt unique, and handcrafted.
Owner Raven, is locking arms with JoAnn Daughtry and her Ministry, “Disciples on the Move”. This organization has an outreach program (feeding the homeless) they will distribute quilts made by Lilian Raven Clothing and the volunteers at the Expo. The “Love Quilts” mission is to warm the hearts and the bodies of those who, unfortunately, live on the streets, and to shield the less fortunate from the elements.
The quilts will be filled with hand-written words of encouragement, and personally decorated by LRC and those who wish to participate. These small tokens, made with love, will show them others care, giving them a glimpse of hope. Those interested in helping to eradicate homelessness can also donate, write on, paint or decorate fabric that will also be stitched onto the “Love Quilts,” that “Disciples on the Move” will distribute to the less fortunate August 19th 2017, at Venice Beach.
