Local Political Candidate Roger Sayegh, is taking the pledge to sleep in the streets

Roger Sayegh, a local bail bondsmen, and small business owner, is running for State Senate in District 18. (San Fernando Valley) against Robert Hertzberg.

Roger Sayegh has taken a pledge to sleep out 3 days and nights (April 26th-29th) to sleep in the streets of Van Nuys, Ca. Homeless, with only $10 in his pocket. Ending on the April 29th with a 2 Mile March with 100+ of homeless people to a local gym’s parking lot to have a Fundraiser, and homeless buffet.

Roger Sayegh, and a few others to be announced guest speakers will be talking about the conditions of homelessness in San Fernando Valley.

Roger Sayegh wrote the following on his Facebook about it:

“It’s time we talk about our homeless. Today’s homeless, they aren’t the homeless you think they are.

Not all drug addicts, not all mentally sick. In fact most aren’t. They are just people, people who are too poor to afford the cost of living.

They sleep in shelters, or stay with abusive boyfriends for a roof, they have children, and they aren’t to be forgotten.

This is why I’m doing it, for them, to document their stories, and their struggles. It’s nothing short of shameful that we sub-categorize these men and woman as “lazy, mentally sick, drug addicts”.

We treat them as less than human, like their American Dream isn’t important.. Well it is, it is to me, and it is to many others. This April 26th-29th I’m going to show them that.”

There are over 150,000 Homeless in California. Roger Sayegh, tokened “the peoples champion” won’t let them get left behind.
