Linbeck Group to Discuss Collaborative Tools for Design and Construction of Healthcare Projects at the Healthcare Design Expo and Conference

Houston, TX – (November 9, 2016) – Linbeck Group, LLC, a Texas-based, technology-driven building construction firm, announced today that Executive Vice President – William H. Scott: Director of Applied Technologies – Thomas Hook; and Client Executive – Kevin Imming will present during Healthcare Design Expo and Conference, an event devoted to responsibly designed and built healthcare environments. The presentation will focus on the tangible impact of responsible design on the safety, operation, clinical outcomes, and financial success of healthcare facilities.  The conference will take place at the George R. Brown Convention Center, 1001 Avenida De Las Americas, Houston, TX 77010 between November 12-15, 2016.

Linbeck, known for building quality capital projects, is particularly adept at being a collaborative partner to clients and design teams utilizing Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) and assorted technologies, tools, and processes to deliver outstanding results. The Expo presentation is an opportunity for event attendees to interact with Scott, Hook, and Imming – all construction industry leaders on the critical key-topic of collaboration. The Linbeck presentation will demonstrate how to focus a team on an owner’s goals, and how to tie performance and incentives to achieving those goals. The three speakers will also discuss how BIM (Building Information Modeling) and Lean tools can reinforce team collaboration and outcomes. 

As the basis of their presentation, Scott, Hook, and Imming will use the Cook Children’s Medical Center Master Plan as a representative project to demonstrate a successful collaborative work environment and provide insight on the tools utilized to achieve project goals established by the client.  Cook Children’s is one of the country’s leading integrated pediatric health care systems.

The presentation will take place Monday, November 14 from 2:00-3:00PM CST:  Track: Builders; Location: Room 370 DE. 

In addition to the presentation, John Barnes LEED® AP, Senior Vice President for Linbeck will conduct a four-hour, instructor-led course called “AGC Lean Design and Pre-Construction” (LCEP Unit 6), which explains the concepts of value-based management, Lean in the design process and relational contracting. 

The course will take place Saturday, November 12 from 1:00 – 5:00 PM CST:  Location: Room 352 D.

In addition, members of the Linbeck team will be on hand during a tour of KIPP Connect, another project of which the firm is particularly proud.  The tour will take place Saturday, Nov 12 from 1:00 to 5:00 PM.  Titled “Reclaiming the Hospital Left Behind for KIPP Connect Campus,” this project transformed an abandoned hospital into the newest KIPP campus, now a safe educational environment for the neighborhood youth.
