\”LIKE TWO PEAS IN A POD\” DAV AND HIRING AMERICA JOIN \”FORCES\”

DAV – the premiere veterans support organization dedicated to a single purpose: empowering and helping veterans lead high quality lives with respect and dignity; and Hiring America–the only national TV show devoted entirely to helping transitioning veterans prepare for and find good careers in the civilian work force–have announced a major partnership. This is a case where the whole will be GREATER than the sum of its parts!

New York, NY – December 6, 2017 – Or as Forrest Gump so aptly put it – “like peas and carrots”.  Hat and glove… ball and bat.

In other words – the perfect match – a common goal for the common good.

DAV – the premiere veterans support organization dedicated to a single purpose: empowering and helping veterans lead high quality lives with respect and dignity; and Hiring America – the only national TV show devoted entirely to helping transitioning veterans prepare for and find good careers in the civilian work force – have announced a major partnership.

DAV is a leader in connecting veterans with meaningful employment through a variety of activities such as hosting job fairs and providing educational and vocational resources.  These help ensure veterans have the opportunity to participate in the American dream, which their sacrifices have made possible.  The organization has, for example, sponsored nearly 300 job fairs since 2014 with 15,617 companies participating, over 112,000 veterans attending and a whopping nearly 50,000 job offers extended to them.

Similarly, Hiring America was created and is devoted to giving transitioning veterans the tools, information and direction to achieve the same kind of goals.

The perfect fit.

“We’re excited Hiring America has partnered with us to amplify our efforts in the veterans’ employment arena,” said DAV National Commander Delphine Metcalf Foster. “This partnership will enable DAV to cast a wide net to let veterans know of our services, where they can find employment resources and highlight the advantages of hiring veterans to potential employers.”

“Our tandem adds dimension to both organizations,” related Bill Deutch, creator and executive producer of Hiring America, which is carried by nearly 200 TV stations nationwide and the American Forces Network.  “It’s truly a case where, by working together, the whole will be GREATER than the sum of its parts. We’re truly thrilled by this great opportunity.”

DAV services help more than 1 million veterans and their families annually.  Hiring America – now in its fifth year – has produced more than 100 shows and reaches more than 1.5 million people with each program.

ABOUT DAV:

DAV empowers veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity. It is dedicated to a single purpose: fulfilling our promises to the men and women who served.  DAV does this by ensuring that veterans and their families can access the full range of benefits available to them; fighting for the interests of America’s injured heroes on Capital Hill; providing employment resources to veterans and their families; and educating the public about the great sacrifices and needs of veterans transitioning back to civilian life.  DAV, a non-profit organization with nearly 1.3 million members, was founded in 1920 and chartered by the U.S. Congress in 1932.
