The school was founded in 1907 to meet the needs of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church community. In 1938, the school was moved to its present location, which includes a gymnasium, library, science lab, music department, and numerous classrooms. They host an Annual Outdoor School that focuses on developing children’s physical, emotional, and spiritual maturity.
The school has an extensive music program that includes a handbell choir, chime choir, treble choir, and a steel drum ensemble. As well, regular music classes with a music specialist are provided for students in Kindergarten to Grade 8.
The JNA School also has a focus on athletics that includes basketball and soccer. Regular physical education classes also allow the students to learn about the importance of exercise and the role that fitness can have in a balanced life.
The school includes Andrews Development Center (ADC), which focuses on the needs of children aged 9 months to 5 years. ADC is a private, non-profit, Christian Development Center. They view children holistically and work to address the students intellectual, social, physical, and spiritual needs.
John Nevins Andrews School mission is to provide a dynamic, faith-based education in a safe environment.
