JamFest: Battle of the Bands Raises Awareness about Veteran Homelessness

ST. PETERSBURG – More than 20 music artists are scheduled to rock out Williams Park on St.Patrick’s Day weekend all in the name of ending homelessness among Veterans in the Tampa Bay area.

JamFest: Battle of the Bands will begin Friday, March 17 with a music competition featuring 15 independent artists who will battle it out for a cash grand prize, recording contract, and other prizes. The fun continues on Saturday, March 18 with a concert featuring headliner national recording artist Sammie. Additional performers will be announced at a later date.

Proceeds from JamFest: Battle of the Bands will support the Veterans & Community Resource Center’s efforts to establish a transitional housing program.

“JamFest: Battle of the Bands was conceived as a way to help give independent musicians a platform while raising awareness about Veteran homelessness,” said Manuel Jones, event organizer. “It’s our hope that through music we can eradicate this problem that is pervasive among Veterans.”
