Dr. Bynes Jr. attended Meharry Medical College and was awarded his doctor’s degree of medicine in 1977. He then pursued his residency training at Staten Island Hospital and New York University Downtown Hospital. Dr. Bynes Jr. attained board certification in internal medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine and holds additional certificates in Advanced Trauma Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support. He stays at the forefront of his specialty through his memberships with the American Medical Association, the New York Academy of Sciences, the American College of Physicians, the American Association for Advancement of Science, the Medical Association of Georgia, and the Georgia State Medical Association.
Dr. Bynes Jr. has been honored with the Bridges to Excellence Recognition from 2013 through 2016, Patients’ Choice Award (2015), Compassionate Doctor Recognition (2015), and NCQA Physician Practice Connections – Patient Centered Medical Home (2013 – 2016). He is a Clinical Associate Professor at Mercer University School of Medicine and credits his success to his dedication, helping people, and listening to patients’ needs. Outside his practice, he enjoys sailing and traveling.
