About ReiserFS
The ReiserFS is a general-purpose file system that supports journaling. Beginning with version 2.4.1 of the Linux kernel, it was the original journaling file system to be included in the standard kernel. ReiserFS is the default file system on Slackware, SuSE, Xandros, Yoper, Linspire, Kurumin Linux, FTOSX and Libranet Linux distributions.
ReiserFS Features
ReiserFS supports quick system journaling mode, which makes ReiserFS even more effective. For example, if 100-byte records are created, several are collected within an individual section, while other repositories put any of them inside the separate section. Thus, there is no set place allocation for the inodes. This preserves up to 6% of the disk space.
