This sports organization focuses on the core values of accountability, teamwork, citizenship, and humility, which makes it a great environment to develop young athletes. While hockey is not the most popular sport in Oklahoma, it is one of the fastest growing youth sports in Tulsa with the professional team, the Tulsa Oilers, as role models for the young players.
Many parents report it being hard to find a youth sports organization that places an equal focus on sportsmanship values, even outside of competition. With Tulsa Junior Oilers, coaches and trainers focus on communicating the core values at every practice and game to cultivate good habits for the future. In addition to the hockey-specific training that youth participants receive, they also are trained in nutrition, mental toughness, and disciplined training habits.
There are other youth organizations that are beginning to take notice of the success that Tulsa Junior Oilers are having with their participants, but Tulsa Junior Oilers remains at the forefront of youth development in Tulsa. While some organizations focus on training athletes in their sport, this organization believes in cultivating values for future leaders of Tulsa.
