Though I may not be fast, I am a runner. Running is a great past-time of mine. I use it to exercise, and to de-stress. When I get out on the road things seem to melt away. I want to build this blog to house my running notes, recipes, and other things that may help me, and you with running, healthy eating habits, and tips that I have come across during my days researching.

FEBRUARY 22, 2017 I am a 40-something year old who is trying to better themselves on a day by day basis. I understand that this is not a fad, or diet, but a lifestyle change that includes good foods, exercise, and more.

It is not always easy to eat right. In fact, it is much easier to eat badly. The cheapest and easiest foods to make are usually the worst for you. However, if you have the time and the motivation, eating nutritiously should not be much of a challenge. This article will offer some advice to help beat that challenge.

One of the best ways to ensure that you meet all of your body’s nutritional needs while avoiding overeating, is to sit down at a table for your meals. Turn off the TV and concentrate on the food in front of you. This allows you to focus on what you’re eating and how it tastes, so that you’ll feel more satisfied and get full quicker.

People think that because they have no carbs that they are helping their body out. This is not true, your body needs carbs in order to function properly. While you should be aware of how many carbs you are consuming a day, don’t eliminate them all together. You want a balance in your body, and carbs is a part of that balance.

Try to include organic foods as part of your nutritional diet. Organic foods are grown free of pesticides, hormones, and chemicals that can potentially cause problems in your body. Organic foods are also known to contain more nutrients and vitamins then their non-organic counterparts. In addition, organic foods often taste better.

When buying prepared foods, avoid those that have sugar, corn syrup or fructose listed among the first several ingredients. Try your best to look for alternatives that have a low sugar content. There are now many foods available, including mayonnaise, salad dressing and ketchup, that you can buy in sugar-free versions.

If you have been eating unhealthy till now you probably know why, simply because that was the easiest option. Now you know that if it comes easy, it is probably not a good idea.
