Gross Confection Bar, A Project By Brant Dadaleares Takes To Kickstarter For Meeting Funding Needs

Brant Dadaleares announces campaign launch on Kickstarter for the ambitious Gross Confection Bar project.

Brant Dadaleares, an entrepreneur with a passion for food and an expert pastry chef, has announced Kickstarter campaign for funding Gross Confection Bar. It is a unique restaurant that focuses exclusively on desserts and will be opened in Portland, Maine.

“I wanted to do something different from the conventional restaurants and that’s how the idea of a dessert-focused restaurant was born,” says Brant Dadaleares. “Our restaurant will offer customers an ever-changing selection of high quality and artfully plated desserts, cocktails, dessert wines, digestifs and more, all backed by exceptional service. We are aiming to deliver a truly new niche for an exciting ‘just for desserts’ destination experience.”

The choice of Portland is a very thoughtful one as Portland’s Old Port has a long history of award-winning, fine dining establishments. There have been many investments in the area by major global hotel brands which is proof of the fact that Portland is still growing in popularity as one of the renowned dining destinations for tourists.

In the Old Port, the Cross Insurance Arena, Merrill Auditorium, and the Maine State Pier are all famous dining places, known for their concerts and events throughout the year. It is also near the Ocean Gateway Terminal which welcomes almost 90,000 cruise ship passengers annually to shop and dine in downtown Portland.

Gross Confection Bar is projected to be a 40-seat restaurant of which there will be 30 table seats and 10 bar seats.  The restaurant aims to attract a loyal clientele of local residents and visitors and maintain them. This will provide steady base revenue that can support the business during the seasonal fluctuations, which is a bane of the tourist industry of Maine.

Gross Confection Bar will also provide a premium selection of enrobed ganaches, fruit pates, bon-bon, entremets, late night savory snacks and desserts to go. The chefs will create a new niche for a ‘just for dessert’ destination experience which will be unique in Portland.

According to Brant, unique ideas such as guest pastry chef nights will be deployed to create buzz about this exciting business idea and entice new customers. Diners at Gross can be sure of enjoying a unique experience every time they visit this place. Nationally acclaimed pastry chefs will take turns at running the kitchen for the evening and providing an exclusive experience for patrons. Educational pastry/dessert cooking classes, for beginners and professionals alike, will be offered in future phases.

The concept of a dessert bar concept is fast becoming a national market trend. Given the exceptional experience of its team, Gross Confection Bar is well placed to enjoy the first mover advantage and establish a significant presence in this niche.

Brant and his team are aiming to raise $35,000 to finance the project. The deadline for achieving this goal is 17 October, 2017.
