Grammy Award Winning punk rock band Green Day has announce a new tour following the release of their album, Revolution Radio. Although the band’s first albums were released in the 1990’s, they became a household name in 2004 with the release of their album American Idiot. The album had five singles that became successful including “American Idiot”, “Boulevard of Broken Dreams”, “Holiday”, “Wake Me Up When September Ends”, and “Jesus of Suburbia”.
The band collaborated with director Michael Mayer to make their album American Idiot a stage musical. The production was premiered at the Berkeley Repertory Theatre in September 2009 before transferring to Broadway at the St. James Theatre in 2010. The show won two Tony Awards in 2010 for Best Scenic Design of a Musical and for Best Lighting Design of a Musical.
