Germany and Slovakia were among the other main global suppliers of escalators and moving walkways in 2014. However, the fastest growing exporters from 2007 to 2014 were China (+5.1% per year) and Italy (+8.9% per year). With this, China was able to continue to strengthen its position in the global export structure.
In 2014, China’s top 5 trading partners were the Republic of Korea, the Russian Federation, Iran, the U.S. and Saudi Arabia, with a combined 32% share of China’s escalator and moving walkway exports. The share of Iran increased modestly (+4.1 percentage points), while the share of Turkey illustrated negative dynamics (-1.5 percentage points).
