As for the Jordan brand, customers are just bored with the old school Air Jordan sneakers that are flooding the market. So what makes Adidas shoe perform better than their two main rivals? According to one Matt Powell of NPD Group, the success of Adidas originals could be down to the popularity of classic Adidas shoes such as Stan Smith and Adidas Superstar. Analysts also believe that whereas Adidas embraced the latest fashion trend, Nike failed to respond. This resulted in Adidas eating into Nike’s market share.
The Kanye West’s Yeezy Boost brand could also be a factor that saw Adidas overtake the Jordan Brand. However, some analysts disagree Kanye West collaboration with Adidas as the sole reason for the latter’s success. Even if the truth lies somewhere in between, Adidas shoe will remain a force to be reckoned with, if they keep doing the right thing.
