Get Jazzed for Rescue Dog Films’ New Animated Movie, Say What!

Say What!: A Geriatric Proposal, an animated film from Rescue Dog Films, will premiere on the 2017 film festival circuit.

January 11, 2017 – Los Angeles, CA – Rescue Dog Films announces the release of a new animated film Say What!: A Geriatric ProposalThe short film follows the story of a young jazz musician who attempts to survive aggressive grannies and other terrifying beasts at a post-concert reception. 

Say What! features voice acting from Tony-nominee Charles Busch, original artwork by iconic American illustrator, Bob Ziering, and a jazz score performed by some of New York’s top musicians including guitar legend, Bucky Pizzarelli.

Rescue Dog Films is a filmmaking collective that donates a portion of their profits to local animal shelters and global protection organizations.  The production company is operated by siblings Anna Weinstein, a Chicago-based community organizer, Aaron Weinstein, a New York-based musician and writer, and Jeremy Weinstein, a Los Angeles-based filmmaker.

During the last three years, Rescue Dog Films projects have been gaining attention.  The PBS television premiere of their film, Lunches with Mel,lead to winning top honors at the New York Jazz Film Festival. Rescue Dog Film productions have also been chosen as Official Selections at festivals including Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival: Roving Eye, the International Film Festival for Kids, and the California Women’s Film Festival.
