Germany Kent To Be Inducted Into Hall Of Fame

Former Miss Teen Mississippi “Miss Congeniality” Germany Kent to become first woman to be inducted into North Panola High School’s Hall of Fame, during a ceremony on May 24 at the Civic Center in Batesville, Miss.

Germany Kent is set to receive the highest honor from her high school. The Mississippi native will be inducted into the North Panola High School Hall of Fame at the upcoming graduation ceremony. “I am truly humbled and deeply honored to have been chosen,” says Kent, who will become the second prominent individual to be acknowledged, joining Otis Sanford, columnist, professor, author and political commentator. The youth empowerment trailblazer is the first female to be honored. 

“I’ve worked hard to get to where I am today, and there is no greater recognition than to receive an award of merit at a place where it all began,” Kent said. “To be chosen as one of the first inductees is a true honor and I am grateful. All the hard work before and after graduation and up until this point has completely paid off.” 

Kent, a widely-respected journalist, producer, business woman, commercial actress and model, social activist and philanthropist, is a social media etiquette expert and influencer, and trusted media resource who has been featured in Inc., Fast Company, Bloomberg Business, Hartford Business, The Examiner, Herald Tribune, Yahoo News, and countless others. As a successful Hollywood commercial actress and media personality, she has interviewed Oscar, Emmy, Golden Globe, and Grammy-winning performers, pro athletes, business leaders and newsmakers. 

Tech giant Onalytica recognized Kent as one of the Top 100 Women in Social Media Marketing. 

Kent’s other accolades include her recent selection as a panelist for Soledad O’Brien’s PowHERful Conference, multiple national and international book awards for her latest book You Are What You Tweet, and her notable alumni recognitions from both Northwest Mississippi Community College and Mississippi State University. Kent is also an honors graduate of The University of Alabama Tuscaloosa where she received her Master of Arts degree on a full scholarship.

Kent has been a huge supporter to numerous charities, foundations and community organizations igniting awareness for multiple causes. She has been an influential mentor to teens and is a community service advocate. Kent is known for her tireless efforts empowering youth, her commitment to the Arts, literacy programs, and speaking out against bullying and cyberbullying. She is a champion for advocating for mental health awareness, and relentless in her service to non-profit organizations, community outreach efforts and dedicated humanitarian efforts. 

On May 17, Kent was honored with a 2017 Global Philanthropy Award from Empower Magazine for her outstanding contributions to society. She will receive the Humanitarian of the Year Award at the 2017 Kidz Rock Awards on June 24. Kent will be a presenter at the upcoming International Trailblazer Awards on July 16, and she will be honored as a Woman of the Year at the Faith Awards July 22. 

Kent will be officially inducted into the Hall of Fame inaugural class as part of the NPHS 2017 commencement beginning at 6 p.m. on May 24 at the Civic Center in Batesville.
