Dr. Jovan Walker, known to some as the Financial Coach of Hope, will be hosting a free workshop on Social Security specifically relating to those nearing or already in retirement. The event will take place on March 31st, 2016 from 6 pm to 7 pm at the Owings Mills Library, 10302 Grand Central Avenue. The seminar will aim to provide the most up to date information on how the new budget imposed by Congress impacts Social Security retirement.
The one-hour presentation will include an introduction from a Social Security specialist, a presentation from a national speaker, and a Q&A session at the end. Educational materials will be provided, and attendees can request additional information or meet a specialist to arrange for a future, no-fee consultation.
Many people facing retirement lack the proper information concerning filing for Social Security, how benefits are calculated, strategies to increase their benefits, and how to coordinate benefits with their spouses.
