About the author
Nara Schuler is originally from Brazil but lives in Canada since 1992. Nara holds a degree in Business Administration, with specialization in the fields of Education and Financial Planning. For more than 10 years Nara worked as a high school teacher in Ontario and subsequently switch to Financial Planning. The increased stress of a very busy lifestyle and inappropriate diet choices contributed for her to developed Diabetes Type 2. That was a moment of huge impact for Nara which has completely changed her interests in life. In 2010, after reading several books on nutrition and its impact on overall health, she decided to completely change her diet. This revolution has influenced more than personal life; she has decided to turn it into a career.
In adopting a whole foods vegan diet Nara has had to reinvent all her recipes which have prompted her in getting her professional certification in cooking Skills at Durham College and a certificate in Plant-Based Nutrition from The T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies and Cornell. Most recently she has completed her first season of Food and Health talk show recorded in Portuguese where she shares her experience and knowledge of plant-based diet in a Brazilian Portuguese web TV.
