He is a highly-trained and qualified endocrinologist with a vast expertise inall facets of his work, including preventive cardiology, cardiovascular medicine, research, and hypercholesterolemia and/or dyslipidemia. Dr. Linton has been practicing for over twenty-five years and is currently serving patients as Stephen and Mary Schillig Professor of Medicine and Pharmacology at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tennessee. He is also Director of the Vanderbilt Lipid Clinic and Co-Director of the Atherosclerosis Research Unit.
Dr. Linton acquired his medical degree in 1985 at the University of Tennessee Memphis. He then served his internship and residency at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center and underwent a fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center. Dr. Linton has received board certification in internal medicine from the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1988. He maintains a professional society membership with the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry and the American Society for Clinical Investigation. He has achieved the coveted titles of Fellow of the American Heart Association and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. Dr. Linton credits his success to mentorship and collaboration. In his spare time, he dedicates to reading and photography.
