20 May, 2017 – Plano, Texas, USA – Denise Lion is proud to bring to the attention of the public that her art is on display at Plano Courtyard Theater, the art Exhibition runs from 5/17/2017 until 6/26/2017 and the reception will be held On June 6, 2017 from 7-9pm. The art show has become a center of attraction for art students, art teachers and art enthusiasts. This is because Denise is a self-taught artist but her art competes well with those of trained artists.
Denise has worked in a variety of mediums including oil painting, jewelry making, feature films and videos, photography, 3-D printed art and in digital mixed media. In that endeavor, she uses discarded electronic parts which affect a robotic look that reflects a technological culture. Denise creates a look of entropy in a futuristic environment, creating poignant and psychologically disturbing narratives that are mixed video art with digital prints that may include an assemblage of the electronic parts.
Since 2001, Denise has exhibited her artwork in several locations. Additionally, she has shown her work at City of Grandprarie, Dallas Arboretum, city of Frisco library, Texas Discovery Center Gallery and at the Plano Art Center in Plano, Texas where she, also, served as a member of the board of directors. More numbers of Denise’s artworks were featured in a solo exhibition at the Plano Courtyard Theater in Plano, Texas.
The artist was featured in an article in the Plano Star Courier newspaper and on the Plano Television Network. Denise has even had one of her oil paintings entitled “The Conductor” used by a music magazine in Brazil for its cover photo. Denise Lion is listed on the Internet Movie Database (IMDB) for her credited work as set decorator for one of the first virtual reality feature films ever made.
She welcomes all to her show and believes that everyone who comes will have something to carry home. Her work is very popular because she has developed a unique style that she uses to produce them.
About Denise Lion:
Denise Lion (born in 1960) is a self-taught artist who was born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and now lives in the city of Plano, Texas near Dallas. Her artworks incorporate the influences of American culture and reflect the vibrancy and colors of her Brazilian upbringing. She’s currently pursuing her Master of Fine Arts in Art and Technology degree. She attends the University of Texas at Dallas. Denise is an international artist who is known for her colorful and dynamic abstract oil paintings.
