DVF PRODUCES RARE CASEBOUND BOOK FOR IRISH MARKET

Waterford-based print and graphic design company employs artisan knowledge

WATERFORD, IRELAND – AUGUST 14th, 2018 – DVF Print and Graphic Solutions, an Irish B2B design and print supplier, recently assisted retired clergyman, Monsignor Michael C. Olden, in the production and launch of his book titled, “The Faith Journey of the Deise People”.

The book is a pictorial history of the many beautiful churches in the South East of Ireland, spread across the counties of Waterford, Kilkenny, and Tipperary.

Monsignor Olden started work on the book in 2006, in his 74th year. It took 12 years before he approached DVF for their assistance in transforming 600-pages of handwritten text into a physical book.

Bill Deevy, co-owner of DVF Print and Graphic Solutions, shared the following insight with us, “When Monsignor Olden approached us, he was very specific in that he wanted the book to be case bound, which is a highly specialised form of book printing. We explained the potential for much higher production costs, but he was adamant in his requirement for a hardcover book. We’re lucky that our production and management team has experience of producing this type of book, because very few companies in Ireland would even know where to start with it.”

Production of “The Faith Journey of The Deise People” was completed in early 2018 – with a total print run of 1,000 copies. The book was officially launched shortly afterwards in a local bookstore, and has since gone on to sell over 300 copies.
