Teambuilding expert and in-demand speaker Dr. Rick Goodman has long been passionate about helping corporate teams work together in true collaboration and unity of purpose. Even amidst the strongest teams, however, tensions can erupt and conflicts can emerge; such is the nature of any high-stakes workplace environment. According to Dr. Goodman, however, actions can be taken to identify and resolve conflicts before they derail the team’s momentum—and he will be sharing some of those actions in person at an upcoming seminar. On June 18, Dr. Goodman will be a featured speaker at Ultimate Software’s interactive HR Workshop in Seattle, giving a talk called “Conflict Management 101.”
“The point of this entire one-day conference is to equip HR representatives to add value to their company—and one of the best ways they can do so is to help foster a strong, healthy team dynamic,” comments Dr. Goodman. “This includes recognizing the ubiquity of workplace conflict but also knowing how to deal with it constructively.”
Dr. Goodman’s seminar will provide some practical guidance for dealing with workplace conflict calmly and professionally—not with anxiety, dread, or discomfort. Dr. Goodman will also provide secrets for strengthening workplace relationships even through periods of conflict, as well as for minimizing conflicts before they even begin.
“Conflict Management 101” will be the conference’s kickoff event; it will be followed by networking events as well as additional presentations. Ultimate Software, the sponsor of the event, will present some strategies for using technology to overcome common HR problems. Accelir founder Sarah Brennan will present a talk called “How to Inspire Passion in Your Employees to Drive Customer Retention,” and Lane Powell PC shareholder Laura T. Morse will discuss “Burning Questions I Wish I Had Asked My Employment Attorneys.”
Comments Dr. Goodman, “The whole event promises to be value-adding and enlightening, and participants are sure to find their careers enriched by the great content being offered.”
The conference will be held at the Seattle Marriott Waterfront on June 18, with registration beginning at 8:15 and the conference winding down around 4:15.
