MAY 11, 2018 – KNOXVILLE, TN – DPRA, Inc. (DPRA), a provider of systems, software, and planning tools that allow business and government to execute efficiently and manage proactively — and Broadsword Solutions Corporation (Broadsword) — a performance innovation firm that leverages evidence-based frameworks such as the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI), ISO 9001 and Scrum – today announced a strategic partnership to assist DPRA in increasing the company’s capabilities and improving quality, by integrating the best practices of the CMMI with a Quality Management System based on ISO 9001.
Working together with Broadsword, DPRA has recently achieved a Maturity Level Three rating in the CMMI for Development v1.3 (CMMI-DEV v1.3 ML3). When appraised, DPRA was found to be performing at ML3 with broad range of process areas across most of their business. During this eighteen-month program, Broadsword applied its proprietary agileCMMI Methodology™ to assist DPRA’s journey toward continuous improvement.
“In addition to improving our business opportunities, we saw adopting CMMI as an opportunity to improve organization-wide,” DPRA’s CEO, Denis O’Keefe, said. “When we first looked into CMMI, we feared it would be driven by Waterfall. It was a pleasant surprise to find that Broadsword was there with an agile approach. Working with consultants who speak our language has been invaluable.”
Phil Cerasoli, DPRA’s VP of Solutions, added, “By working with Broadsword to map the guidance of the CMMI to ISO 9001, DPRA will be able to codify its processes, improve quality and performance and make them repeatable, and increase opportunities to interact with government clients.”
Broadsword’s President, Jeff Dalton, said “DPRA is passionate about being the best company they can be for their customers. Their commitment to performance improvement drives innovation and creativity, and enables DPRA to quickly adapt in a competitive environment. We are honored to help scale DPRA’s culture of operational excellence as the company continues to grow.”
DPRA was founded in 1961 in Manhattan, Kansas, and incorporated in 1972. Today DPRA is primarily an IT company serving in the federal market, helping develop software solutions that facilitate large-scale logistics. The firm’s environmental division works with a variety of customers to assist with codification of regulations between federal and local markets, records management, and database integration. With main offices in Manhattan, Kansas, and Knoxville, Tennessee, DPRA has employees located across the nation, including Dallas, Texas; O’Fallon, Illinois; Denver, Colorado; and Washington, D.C.
