District Champions Program Recognizes Outstanding Community Members

South Bay Union School District Superintendent, Dr. Katie McNamara, honors District Champions four times per school year.  The awards recognize students, parents/guardians, staff, teams, organizations, and community members that demonstrate outstanding work, dedication to the District’s mission and goals, commitment to the community, and strong support for South Bay.  The program was launched at the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year, and since then over 90 awards have been presented.

In addition to District staff, honorees have included community organizations, such as the Jose Montaño Foundation and North Island Credit Union; community members, including San Diego Police Officer Alan Anderson; numerous parents, guardians and volunteers for their dedication to South Bay schools; and students for their academic achievement and citizenship.

Superintendent McNamara is proud to honor and recognize the team members and partners that champion the District’s work and the South Bay community.
