I’VE ALREADY SEEN IT SOMEWHERE
16 Jun, 2017 – Miami, FLORIDA – Miami Beach Cinemateque and MINDIE – Miami Independent Film Festival present “I’ve already seen it somewhere”, photo exhibition by Davide Fiore.
What’s in common with “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, “9 and half weeks”, “Once upon a time in America”? It’s easy… New York City!
“I’ve already seen it somewhere” is a photo exhibition dedicated to the cult NYC locations taken from the most famous movies and photographed by the filmmaker Davide Fiore.
New York is an open-air set and what’s the better chance to capture the essence of the locations and compare them to those they become today?
The idea came out when the young filmmaker, visiting the Big Apple, asked himself how to explore it in a different way. For three months, Davide Fiore shot long and wide along the five districts of New York looking for hidden or unknown corners. And so he took pictures of the ones have been most suggestive locations seen in American movies.
Is that building still there? Or that bridge? Or that bench? Let’s start a journey of 25 photos between the past and the present, between what they were and what they are today.
There is a wonderful feeling when walking into personal exhibition. It makes us see the work as a true extension of one’s self. Win or lose, the interests have led us to an accumulation of our personal expression, signed lower right, mounted to best advantage.
