Sandy, Utah – A team of film professionals and companies has been established to begin the process that will result in the production of the major motion picture The Duke of Tralee in 2017.
Dave Bresnahan of Faranabrack LLC traveled to Los Angeles and Santa Monica, California to meet with the executives he has selected to be a part of his team for the production of the film. Bresnahan received a letter of intent from TriStar Financial, and met with chief executive officer, Michael Olsen.
The meeting at the Santa Monica office of Moving Pictures Media Group (MPMG) included Ray Ellingsen, a producer and Ron Takehara, who is the MPMG chief legal and operations officer. Bresnahan also met with Rene Leda who has over 28 years of experience in the film and television industry with expertise developing and distributing films and television in domestic and international markets.
The team also includes director and screenwriter David Mickey Evans (The Sandlot), as well as Robert Allen Elliott who will provide the film score and music supervision for the film.
“Each member of our team has exceptional skills and will enable us to create a film that is destined to become a classic that will be viewed by generations to come. My goal is to continue to assemble more members of this team to bring about the highest quality production that will appeal to the largest possible world-wide audience,” explained Bresnahan.
Roger Bresnahan, The Duke of Tralee, was just 18 when he became a major league baseball player in 1897, but his factory-working Irish immigrant father told him to quit playing a boy’s game and be a man with a real job. Somehow Roger had to find a way to meet his father’s expectations while pursuing his dream of playing major league baseball.
The Duke played baseball in the early 1900s when they used tactics that fans today would call dirty ball, but the crowds back then loved it. The Duke of Tralee played with greats like Ty Cobb, Tris Speaker, Honus Wagner, Christy Mathewson, Joe Tinker, Johnny Evers, Miller Huggins, and John McGraw. The fans loved him, but he just wanted his father to accept him.
Preparations are under way to film in the summer of 2017 at the Park City Film studios in Utah, and on location where the real events happened in Ohio and Ireland.
