To meet the unique needs of military children, the district has partnered with the University of Southern California to create a series of virtual tools and resources that assist students transition into school, obtain additional support, and socialize.

The WelConnect App, available for iOS and Android devices, addresses the transition needs of military students by allowing families to search available resources and support programs provided by school districts, schools, the surrounding community, and the US military.

The district’s Military Family Advocate also provides additional support to military families as they transition into school. Research shows that the average military-connected student attends approximately six to nine different schools throughout their academic career, which gives way to many obstacles. The Military Family Advocate helps make the transition efficiently and effectively by ensuring families are well informed and connected before they even arrive at a school.

The district recognizes military families for their sacrifices, bravery, and service to our country and will continue to work hard to make CVESD a place all families can depend on for support.
