Film Ignites Cryptozoology Fans. Premieres on VOD & Digital

Los Angeles, CA (July 29, 2016) –  When art imitates life, you normally don’t run for cover! From Tricoast Entertainment,  LIKE A BAT OUTTA HELL is based on the true story of a huge bat with an 11-foot wingspan and an appetite for human flesh. The Australian coastal town of Batemans Bay was recently overrun by over 100,000 of these giant bats. Thousands of the creatures flew en masse into power lines, knocking out power to the entire town and the government has declared a state of emergency. In the meantime, residents are scared out of their minds and prisoners in their homes.

In LIKE A BAT OUTTA HELL, A team of young surfing filmmakers are invited to film the bat in the great southern wasteland of the Australian Outback, and are quickly terrorized into submission by the winged beast. The giant bat imprisons the group in an isolated church with little chance of survival. Killing the giant bat requires them to avoid the bats radar, escaping the church and finding the creature’s cave.  A local farmer who knows the monster’s secret hiding place leads the young team in a quest to kill the creature before they are eaten alive. What started out as an exciting fun trip about a surfing documentary, turns into a terrifying night of unspeakable horror and a fight to survive.

The myth of the giant bat is pervasive in Cryptozoology, the pseudoscience involving the search for creatures whose existence has not been proven due to lack of evidence.  Cryptozoologists refer to the animals they study as cryptids. These cryptid bats – also called Ahools – can be found hiding in many countries, and as man encroaches, they are now seeking their revenge.

LIKE A BAT OUTTA HELL stars Vernon Wells (Mad Max), Rachael Murphy (Chasing Denzel; Don’t Look Up), Marco Dapper (Hit The Floor; The Young and the Restless), and Dan Balcaban (Neighbours; Underbelly). It is written and directed by Australian native and seasoned stuntman, Danial Donai, who paints a very real and terrifying story with his languid camera moves and shocking creature POV’s.

LIKE A BAT OUTTA HELL is now out on DirectTV, Dish, iTunes,  Amazon, Vudu, Google Play, Vubiquity and Hoopla.
