Friends and family often gather in homes to play cards. Now, the creator of a unique website called My Card Club that will allow friends, family members and others to play card games remotely, including Texas Hold’em, Euchre, Spades, Bid Whiz and Poker has launched a Kickstarter campaign to raise development funds.
“I chose poker as the first game because that is the one I play the most, with both men and women,” said Sidney Bohanen, creator. “We leave our homes and travel at all times of the year to play card games with family and friends. With this website, people will not have to leave home in order to enjoy a card game with friends or family members.” My Card Club will feature a wide range of card games as the website is developed, although poker will be the first game offered.
The My Card Club website will feature both a desktop and a laptop version of the game as well as a mobile app for phones and tablets, enabling players to enter the game from any location. The app development will require about $10,000 and a website with online registration and hosting will cost $2,500 in total fees, including insurance and attorney’s fees.
The Kickstarter campaign, located at https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1532354379/texas-holdem, features pledge levels from $1 to $250 and prizes including personalized post cards, coffee mugs and the donor’s name on the website as an executive. For more information on specific pledge levels and the associated prizes, see the Kickstarter page.
