With North Carolina losing their tax credits for film incentives more work could be coming to New Mexico, Texas, Atlanta and Colorado.
Local movie production house AEC Studios located north of downtown Denver has been taking advantage of the decentralized film industry for the last several years. AEC Studios just finished the film “DRIVEN” helmed by film directors/producers/casting directors Brian McCulley (Sign of the Times, Gone Girl) and John Crockett (TEXT) and staring Tony Todd (Candyman, The Rock). DRIVEN an action crime drama, lined up for a long film festival run will launch their fest tour in late fall. The “DRIVEN” trailer can be viewed here: DRIVEN trailer.
In addition to “DRIVEN” AEC just finished shooting the film “Broken Cross” a dark story based on the comic book series Infiltrator brought to life my writer Jimmy Drain. “Broken Cross” is the second collaborative project between McCulley, Crockett and Tony Todd. The story is about the dangers of cults and the battles between the devil and good men. With these productions and AEC Studios’ last successful ten part Zombie web series “The Locals” it seems the entertainment industry is alive and doing well in the fly over states. “The Locals” Web Series can be seen here for free: LOCALS SERIES.
Next up for AEC is a dark rock and roll tale “It’s a Hard Rock Life” a story about a band that will do anything to make it big, anything including; mafia ties, plots, murder, love and chaos in this new edgy story featuring rock consulates Mark Bliesner (Former manager Big Head Todd). This grizzly epic started shooting in late AUG 2015 and will continue to shoot until the end of the year.
