Shanice Shaunte’ Jefferson, a 23-year-old college student has started a crowd-funding campaign on GoFundme.com to raise funds for studying in Canada at Capilano University. She had enrolled in the visual effects program there but is falling short on money which is why she has turned to the masses for support through the popular fundraising platform.
The campaign features a goal of $6000 which Shanice will use to fund her studies abroad. As a computer enthusiast, she had studied at Southeastern Louisiana University for studying computer science and minored in Animation/VFX in 2011. Before that, she was studying in SLEU where she suffered a stomach infection which affected her studies as well. Her dream of studying abroad became true when she got enrolled in the Capilano University but fell short on abudget as she had to spend a lot of money on her medical bills.
“I’m really passionate about computers and love to create something artistic out of it. By studying in Canada, I’ll be able to soak in the knowledge and artistic skills which will help me in my career a lot. I thanks, everybody who’ll support me for my studies”, says Shanice.
She’s really excited to be studying in Vancouver considering the prestigious school, talented teachers, and a great studying atmosphere, only if the fundraising becomes successful. As an international student, she has to pay $5000 to the school and $1000 extra she’ll need to pay for rent, transportation, food and other fees. She expects her friends and family to support the campaign so that she can pursue her dream career.
The reason she has turned into this campaign is that she really wants to go this school and for that, she isn’t shying away in asking alittle help from people.
